A range of additional sewing packs are available to further develop your sewing skills.
These packs are optional and are an additional purchase when enrolling on the course “Keep on Sewing …”
All Packs are based on self-paced learning with step-by-step instructions.
All samples within the pack are cut and ready to sew.
The packs have been arranged in order to build up your skills. As you progress, the level of difficulty increases.
P1: Develop Your Sewing Techniques
In this pack, you will learn how to sew components that go together to give your garments a professional finish.
You will learn how to sew:
- Different seam finishes and where to use them
- Pockets
- Darts
- A lap and fly zip
- Perfect gathering
- A set in sleeve
- Binding
- Quick and easy elastic casings
- Openings with facings
On completion, you will have a portfolio of samples with detailed instructions to guide you through most sewing projects.
All materials and notions are supplied for this pack.

P2: Stretch My Skills
This pack will help you develop your knowledge and skills needed to sew stretch fabrics. You will then be able to work on your own future stretch projects.
Topics covered in this pack include:
- Machine requirements and stitches to use
- Identifying the difference between knitted and woven fabrics
- Advantages and disadvantages of knitted fabrics
- Calculating the fabric stretch and choosing the correct pattern to use for knit fabrics
- Seam and hem finishes for knits
- Apply rubber/elastic to garments
Course notes and fabric samples are provided in this pack.
You will then bring your own stretch pattern and fabric to sew.

P3: Patterns Made to Fit
In this pack you will learn how to take body measurements and adjust a commercial sewing pattern to fit your body size and shape.
Using your own sewing pattern, closest to your hip (skirt/pant) or chest (top/dress) size, you will adjust the pattern to fit your own measurements and make any required pattern alterations to fit your figure type.
The pack provides notes on how to adjust your pattern and fabric to make a mockup.

P4: Copy that Style
This pack is designed to help you make a pattern of your favourite garment, cut out your pattern in your fabric and sew it up.
Ideal if you have a favourite skirt, shorts, top or dress you would like to make a pattern for and make in your own fabric.
You will learn to:
- Trace a pattern from an existing garment
- Lay up your pattern and cut it out in fabric
- Develop an order of assembly to sew your garment; and
- Sew a garment you will be proud to wear
Equipment and paper are supplied.
You will need to supply your own fabric and notions (zipper, threads, buttons etc.) for your outfit.

P5: Patternmaking Design
This pack is for advanced sewers who have an understanding of how garments go together.
Ideal for those who would like to make their own designs.
You will learn to:
- Make skirts styles including flare and pleats
- Construct circle and gored skirt to individual measurements
- Waistbands – Fitted and Elasticised
- Pockets and facings
- Gathers
- Moving Darts to various positions
- Panel lines
- Develop a range of collars
- Patternmake sleeves styles
By learning these techniques you are able to adapt and change patterns to create your own individual style.
You will be provided with extensive course notes and paper to make your patterns along with the use of blocks and patternmaking equipment.
